Our focus is on the intersection of psychology & health
The Behavioral Medicine Program (BMED) at Massachusetts General Hospital provides clinical, research and training activities for patients impacted by both medical and psychiatric conditions.
Our Treatment Model
Our therapy-based treatments are typically short-term and are tailored to the patient's individual needs.
During an initial evaluation, the patient and provider will discuss treatment goals and a plan for achieving them.
We use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help patients develop personal coping strategies in order to solve problems and change unhealthy patterns.
In our collaborative approach, the BMED program coordinates care with other Mass General providers involved in the patient's care.
